Exam pressure, 90000th visit, H. Ho May 21, 2012
As always, pressure from exam is tremendous. An earlier exam this year could be a blessing or a curse. I don't know. But I just want to get things done.
One stupid mistake: I forgot to upload the last entry, making our beloved site be abandoned for 20 days. Even worse, we missed our celebration for the 90000th visit! Anyway I have to thank all those who haven't, yet, forgotten this site. I believe that together, we will reach the 100M milestone, by the 10th anniversary in Feb 2013. Isn't that exciting?
One last thing: we had our last clinical session with Henry Ho today. It was sentimental, given that both we and him have changed a lot since last September. I vividly remember the first session with him. I don't mind admitting, on the web, that we think he's the strictest tutor we've met. It was a Monday morning. Once he walked into the briefing room, we dare not produce any noise. And when he said he'd be with us for the whole year, we, in addition to keeping quiet, held our breadth, turning the briefing room into complete silence. But as time goes by, he proves to be a good tutor, and I've learnt a lot from him. So, this summarizes the second last lesson in my five-year university life. The last of the last will be on this Thursday. I can't wait.
Homecoming May 12, 2012
So, we went to the long-awaited La Salle Gala Dinner tonight. It was a big event. Was that great? It depends on how you define greatness. The problem with the dinner was that it was a pure social/business event, without reigniting our love for the school. True, we're all proud to be part of it, and we'd love to come to that event. But I haven't loved my alma mater more after being in that event.
Anyway we did have fun. The greatest fun would be meeting Henry Ho there.. And we took some pix. He said his class is quite active in organizing re-U. Well, what about organizing a re-U with .6?
May Day May 1, 2012
It's May. What's my impression about May? It's hot. Yes, it's rather hot this year, and its only May. I can't imagine what it'll be like when it's July. But perhaps I shouldn't complain too much, because in May days resemble those in year 1 -- in the so-called "Clinical Skills I" in year 1, we didn't really have any classes. I didn't dedicate too much time on reading back then, but I guess I should in year 5, because the value of past paper has diminished a lot in the final final exam. So, let's start some reading.
The thing I want to talk about today, is how much I value this site. Well, as part of our final assessment we need to hand in a portfolio, and in that portfolio we need to report the completion dates of our key skills, from 2.1 to 5.2. How are we supposed to remember all our dates? No worries, because by typing "key skill site:anzyme.com" in Google, you immediately get entries mentioning "key skills". It's wonderful looking back at how our attitudes towards key skills have evolved. In the past passing key skill was no piece of cake. Things have got increasingly difficult. Luckily for me, I passed all on first attempt. And my favourite place to share my joy with everyone is this site, Anzyme.com.
"Unexpectedly, I passed the impression key skill." Feb 14, 2011
"With the passing of pulpotomy key skill today (which, however, being an easy one), I'm less stressed and feel less hatred for life." Apr 8, 2011
"And I completed and passed the fluoride key skill today, which made by morning fruitful." Nov 22, 2010
"Btw, I passed radiology key skills today. Let's celebrate." Mar 13, 2009
Despite the many fortunate results, there were days I am not proud of, though, like an event which happened exactly one year ago:
"I failed to pass perio key skill (meaning I didn't fail, though)…" May 1, 2011
PS There were (89527-88216) 1311 visits in April, or 48.6 visits per day. Thank you.
