Autumn
September 29, 2008

I woke up quite early this morning, despite going to bed quite late last night. Anyway when I woke up this morning, I found that something is new - the weather. The breeze and the smell told me that autumn has come. Has it? I'm not so sure if it really begins today, but one thing true is that we still have autumn and spring. Perhaps we won't some time in the future, but let's think positive.

To make things better, there's no T1 this morning because we've already had it last friday. So maybe I should really relax now.

Suffering
September 25, 2008

We all face different kinds and levels of sufferings throughout life. Some of them are so easy to deal with that we feel nothing afterwards. Some, however, are more painful and unforgettable. The nature of human beings enables some of us to face challeges bravely and pass sufferings scarlessly. But for the unlucky ones, they have suffered too much that they're too far away from innocence. What's the consequence? Perhaps one is that they cannot execute what's believed to be ideal anymore.

For those who still believe things could be ideal, however, I'm sorry if I have discouraged you. I didn't intend to do so, and I shouldn't do that either. The world always need some devoted and selfless people to keep it running.

Typhoon Hagupit
September 23, 2008

One or two typhoons bring certain excitement, like unexpected days off, unprecedented wind speed, and perhaps underestimated rainfall. But when it comes to the third typhoon in two months, we feel nothing but annoyed. Gone are the days when we treasured the extra study time brought by typhoon during AL, because what we all think of this moment is fun. I had plans today, but it's all ruined by this damn typhoon. Worse still, the #8 signal was issued at 6 pm today, meaning that by the time I wake up tomorrow, it will have gone! That's stupid, isn't it? Considering it brings HK ppl nothing but perhaps more disruption during the after-work peak hour..

Fearing initially that the typhoon may still be there tomorrow, and that I will then be so lonely staying at hall, I came HOME this evening. I now think this is a bad idea. Tomorrow I'm going to have to wake up at 6.30 am in order to attend the practical session scheduled for 9. Wait a minute, I've just recalled that none of the practical sessions since year 1 always are useful. So?

ODTP, Ufology, and more
September 18, 2008

Another ODTP session this morning. Again, it's not bad. Actually it's the first three-hour session that I don't actually feel three hours has passed since September. Perhaps when it comes to a real patient, we really pay more attention and think more.

Regarding the ufology course, well, indeed the course arrangement sucks. "The course is suspended until further notice due to unforeseeable reasons". How unforeseeable is it? One suggestion is that they're abducted by the ETs and that we have to wait until they come back and share their personal experience. "都話D UFO 友呃人," I said.

Regarding my behaviour at Cafe de Corol this afternoon, I apologize should I scare anyone. But after deeper thoughts I insist I was not wrong this afternoon. The staff refused my ticket at the very beginning. I'm not going into the details though. It's time to learn to let go of things that ought to be.

Settling down (again)
September 16, 2008

Well, I'd like to share a conversion between my roomate and I:

D: Why do they do PBL?
K: Well, they want to promote "life-long learning".
D: Ha, after that perhaps I don't want to live that long.

I'm not so much of a PBL opposer, nor am I such a devotee as Dyson and Dr. Melon. After all, I actually kinda enjoy the freedom I had in year 1. But now life's become tougher. There are much more work to do in year 2, but I guess I'm starting to get used to it. The weirdest thing about life is that sometimes, you can really force yourself to like things you once loathed. Life in year 2 is more busy, but more fulfilling. We removed amalgam from a tooth by high speed handpiece this morning, and we had an assessment on mixing IRM within 1 minute. I know that when I graduate 4 years later, I'll find this stupid. Our work today is supposed to be the easiest and most fundamental part of clinical dentistry, but like what I've always said, everything has a beginning. Whether or not nothing will end up big depends really on how good you start building it. So, I'll try my breast best. Please support me and wish me luck. For all those who wish to join me to kick some ass, I wish you all the best.

Apollonian
September 8, 2008

So, we went to "king jong" today, and met quite a lot of people. Most of the first-years showed up, but only a few of them expressed interest towards the Apollonian. Luckily, we have fairly enough fellow year 2 classmates for the committee. Cto and I were assumed chairlady and chairman, and we hope everything is going to be fine.

As for the Legco election, yes, I went to vote yesterday. As a HK Island resident, I voted for democracy. I think that's a sensible thing that all university student should do, isn't it?

Anyway it's Monday today, meaning another week of frustration has begun. Why frustration? Why not? Five consecutive days waking up at 7.30, three full days a week. Yes, lives were even tougher back in F.7. But don't forget we're university students now, so why can't we enjoy our lives before we graduate?

God, help me get through all these.

Let's vote!

Settling down
September 4, 2008

It's the 4th school day in BDS II, and my 4th day in-a-row waking up at 7.30. A day or two ago, I felt so pissed having a schedule like this - we have school from Mon to Fri, two days of which are full days. And school starts at 9 every morning. What kind of life is this? Why do some people have long weekends and lessons not start until at least 10.40? Why do some groups have days-off on Fridays? Let's face it, people. That's not fair. Resting is also part of studying, so why do some people get more while I have none!!

Life is filled with questions without answers, mysteries without clues. It's also filled with unfairness. Perhaps this is the reason why it's always so unfair to me..
