Getting better August 27, 2008
I was terribly sick yesterday, and I'm not much better today. But I did take a break
HKO August 25, 2008
My HKO turned out not bad. At least no disaster hapened, and freshmen enjoyed themselves. The luckiest thing was perhaps that I could follow/lead my group instead of staying in hall. I saw how freshmen relayed the "torch" at Star Avenue and sang We Are Ready, I saw them singing stupid songs all the time, and I ran and sweat with them. This was already my 3rd HKO after entering HKU. I'm not sure if I have another chance to join HKO, but I enjoyed this year's HKO more than last year's, partly because I'm not a freshman anymore, partly because I planned the HKO myself.
There are still 5 more days to go before the ocamp ends. I hope that everything outside has not changed after these seven days.
Nuri August 22, 2008
Thanks to Typhoon Nuri, Hong Kong is once again shut down. In the old days when we had to go to school every day, having typhoon was one such good news. We'd get an extra day-off, which was extremely useful especially in F.7 during which going to school meant nothing. My thoughts are quite different nowadays. The previous typhoon, Kammuri, had already created enough inconveniences. No bus, no ferry, raised-fare taxi... Being at hall meant total isolation. That's why when I heard of the typhoon yesterday, I packed and went home, without caring whether my new roomate, Austrian Daniel, would arrive today. Roomate, I'll see you when I'm back.
Anyway, it's been quite a while since I updated this blog. Well, I had to attend dental ocamp, and had to rush to finish everything ahead of next's week hall ocamp. So just excuse me for that, would you?
Just before we part again, there's a facebook app for HKU library.. Isn't it ridiculous?
Back, bye August 14, 2008
I'm just back, and then I have to go again. This time I'm going to Dental Ocamp. Hope everything will be fine.
Btw, my 1-star day turned out not bad after all. At least I didn't have to pay for my overdued book at HKU library = P
Short break August 11, 2008
Guys, I'll take a short break from 12-13th. Take care, and have fun.
Patriotism August 7, 2008
As I prep the HKO, I try to include some patriotic elements ahead of Beijing olympics as well as letting the freshmen understand their position as a university student. Examples include yelling "Add oil, China!" at PLA Camp Kln Tong. Of course, the kind of patriotism that I endorse is quite different from the angry teens on the mainland. But what about the coming freshmen, especially some of which are possible angry teens from mainland? Hopefully this kind of task gives a chance for reflection.
Talking about patriotism, I saw this (the picture) today as I came back to hall. Do they only want to have a symbol, or are they really so patriotic? Well, sometimes, I really want more from China to be proud of.
Wow, what's that?Horoscope August 6, 2008
To some, checking the horoscope every morning is like checking the weather. They get a glimpse of what's going to happen that day, and when those things do happen, they'd be amazed at the fortune teller's accuracy. Feeling desolate these days, I've joined these lost people. Sometimes, if it says it's a 5-star day, I'll expect good things to happen, just like if it warns me against anything, I'll try to avoid them. This seems to make life easier in that you finally got a direction for your life. You know where you should go, and where you shouldn't. All of a sudden, we lost people aren't so lost anymore.
Apart from everyday "forecast", they also got some articles analysing behaviours of different horoscopes. Some of the behaviours described really coincide with mine. Am I really such a typical Cancer? I don't know. But if you want to know me more, they serve as a good guide. Hall life, Olympic Exhibition, and more August 4, 2008
When asked what hall life means to us, we usually say shit such as "having chance to learn new stuff" or "making more friends". But deep down, we all know what's the most fundamental of "life" - the place you stay, the place you work, the place you sleep. Yes, PokChuning may be important, but whether a hall life is enjoyable depends much on how comfortable the place one stays is. In short, whether a dorm room has become a second home..
I feel like my true hall life has just begun, because my roomate is now back to Beijing. No offence. What I mean is that I really prefer to be alone when I'm back to my room. More freedom, less disturbance. He's not coming back except on 11th, after which he will fly to the US. So, from today until 22nd, I'm living alone in a double room. After 22nd, a new beginning will come. Let's hope that I'll get along with William.

We went to Heritage Museum in Shatin today. Yes, we saw the ancient olympic exhibition. It was great. We saw lots of sculptures, and our artistic sense has become overwhelmingly high. Well, perhaps that's a bit over, but indeed the exhibition is worth visiting.
In the evening we ate at Shakey's Pizza. Since there were only two of us, we ordered two dishes only. We had a prawn pizza and a pasta. The pizza was great, while the pasta sucked. Anyway this pizzeria is recommended.
I-Day, iPhone 2.0 August 2, 2008
I volunteered in i-day yesterday. It was really a tough day because our major activities was standing to promote and withstanding the heat. It was a good exercise to get to know the freshmen, seeing what they look like. Well, they're strange. Some of them are really those you'd never want them to be admitted. There were some better choices, but you never know.. Life changes so fast these days that I start to lose confidence in my ability to see people. Perhaps it's really time to stop and see what's going on before I continue my journey..

On the other hand, I did something useful yesterday. (Yesterday again? What have I done today then? Technically, nothing but sleep, perhaps also playing with my phone. Well, I'll elaborate.) I jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone for software 2.0. Thanks to this site, I did everything with ease. There're step-by-step guides for both Mac and Windows, and I've already recommended it to some friends who own iPhone. Do you wanna join me then?
